Seville, 26 November 2024 – The CARE4CARE consortium, a Horizon Europe-funded project, convened for its General Assembly on 25–26 November 2024 in the vibrant city of Seville. Hosted by the University of Seville, the meeting brought together partners from six EU countries to advance the project’s mission of improving working conditions and rights for care workers across Europe.
The event, held in the historic Tobacco Factory, served as a platform for partners to evaluate progress, refine strategies, and plan future deliverables. Key highlights included:
- Presentation of the CARE4CARE Policy Paper: Viadrina University led discussions on this crucial deliverable, which outlines actionable policy recommendations to enhance gender equality, address migration challenges, and improve working conditions in the care sector.
- Collaborative Review of Research Findings: The University of Seville shared insights from national surveys and focus groups, providing valuable data to inform the Policy Paper and other project outputs.
- Advancements in Training Models: Partners focused on WP6, discussing effective training initiatives to empower care workers and improve sectoral skills.
- Updates on the CARE4CARE Web Platform: Progress was made on designing a user-friendly platform that will offer care workers access to essential information, including legislation, collective agreements, and protection mechanisms.

The consortium also explored opportunities for wider stakeholder engagement, setting the stage for the next major event in Brussels in January 2025, where the Policy Paper will be presented to EU policymakers and stakeholders.
