Events & workshops
Events and workshops are organised to maximise the outreach of CARE4CARE results and to engage a wide audience. Throughout the life of the project, events and tailored workshops will be organized in each partner region with the goal of bringing together stakeholders and policymakers, as well as sharing knowledge and experience. These rounds will contribute to create a real impact and will enhance awareness of issues and advancements in the care sector.
Past Events & Workshops
5 December 2025: CARE4CARE Final Event in Florence
On 5 December 2025, CARE4CARE partners gathered in Florence for a final public event presenting the project’s key findings and policy recommendations to the general public. The event was the screening of a movie about care workers titled “Careseekers: in cerca di cura”. It brought together researchers, stakeholders and institutional representatives of the Municipality of Florence to discuss concrete pathways for improving working conditions and social protection in the care sector, marking the conclusion of the project’s activities.
18 November 2025: CARE4CARE Final Conference at the European Parliament
On 18 November 2025, the European Parliament hosted the Final Conference of the Horizon Europe project CARE4CARE, titled “Who cares for the Carers? Rethinking Work in Europe’s Care Sector”. The event was opened by our host, Member of the European Parliament Rosa Estaràs Ferragut, with contributions from fellow MEPs, European Commission representatives, and leading experts in the field of care work. The conference presented the project’s final results, including the CARE4CARE Policy Paper and a suite of policy tools developed over three years of research, including the WP7 CARE4CARE App.
The agenda featured two thematic panels focusing on decent work in the care sector and the intersection of care, migration, and gender. Key stakeholders—ranging from EU institutions to trade unions and care sector employers—will contribute to the debate, alongside academic researchers from the project consortium. The event closed with a networking cocktail, offering participants an opportunity to exchange ideas and build alliances for future action on care policy. A special corner with a laptop was provided to access the CARE4CARE App during the reception.

18 June 2025: CARE4CARE at webinar “Towards a More Coherent Framework for Addressing Long-Term Care Workforce Challenges: From Evidence to Policy Responses”
On 18 June 2025, the European Commission hosted a key webinar on “Towards a More Coherent Framework for Addressing Long-Term Care Workforce Challenges.” Opening the event was Roxana Mînzatu, Executive Vice-President for Social Rights and Skills, with contributions from leading EU policymakers and stakeholders. Among the speakers, Prof. Eva Kocher—lead author of the CARE4CARE Policy Paper—presented insights from the project during a workshop on improving working conditions for care workers. The webinar included high-level panels and three parallel workshops focused on working conditions, labour rights, and skills in the LTC sector.

14 January 2025: CARE4CARE Policy Seminar
25-26 November 2024: the CARE4CARE partners meet in Seville
The CARE4CARE consortium gathered in Seville on 25–26 November for its General Assembly to review progress and plan next steps in the project, focusing on advancing the Policy Paper and finalising key deliverables. Hosted by the University of Seville, the meeting brought together project partners to share insights, refine strategies, and discuss future dissemination activities. Participants also explored ways to enhance stakeholder engagement ahead of the January Policy Seminar in Brussels.
17 April 2024: CARE4CARE European Meeting in Brussels
The CARE4CARE project met in Brussels on the 17th April with stakeholders of the care industry at the European level to discuss the findings of the National Reports and the Comparative and country-specific overviews, exchanging knowledge and best practices, and exploring future policy strategies and responses. The seminar involved approximately 80 participants among representatives of the European Commission, employers and trade unions, civil society organisations, regional authorities and national permanent representations.

31st January-1st February 2024: First CARE4CARE General Meeting in Barcelona
The CARE4CARE consortium met in Barcelona for its first General Meeting to discuss and prepare the new Work Packages, and to unveil the first research results. Held in a hybrid format, blending in-person with virtual participation, the meeting brought fresh energy to the discussions on improving care workers’ labour conditions and making up new policy proposals. The April EU stakeholder meeting was also prepared in this meeting.
16th March 2023: CARE4CARE Kick-off meeting in Florence
The CARE4CARE consortium is delighted to announce that the kick-off meeting of the project will take place in the Lecture Hall in Piazza San Marco Florence, hosted by our project coordinators Università degli Studi di Firenze.
